Our best-selling title (in units) has always been the Engineering Documentation Control Handbook, 2nd Edition, by Frank Watts. Below is just another example of why this book never stops selling! If you don’t have it in your collection of William Andrew titles, you are missing out.
Dear Frank,
Inertia Switch would like to thank you for some of the best wisdom regarding configuration management. We were recently awarded several quality awards and received our IS9001 and AS9100 certification last month. A majority of our audit revolved a great deal around design and development control. We received 100% scores in these areas resulting from techniques we used in your book. We are an old but newly managed Aerospace company serving the world. Some customers are NASA, Lockheed, Airbus, Boeing, Raytheon, and Sikorsky. All of these companies have accepted our methods and most have commented that they wish their system was as simple. We feel confident that your “good logic” will continue to grow our company for many years to come. Again many more thanks from all of us.
Best Regards,
Brian DiGirolamo
Vice President, Chief Engineer

William Andrew and its imprint, Plastics Design Library had an effective and interesting time at the MassPlastics show on March 26th and 27th. Of highest importance was the added exposure of our highly popular line of plastics references, handbooks, and most of all our Chemical Resistance database (in it’s 4th Edition). It was good to see that the plastics industry is still pushing forward and to see new technologies and ideas making their way into an industry that has been around for quite some time.
Many thanks to all those who stopped by our booth and chatted with us about their information needs and desires, and special thanks to those who told us “I have lots of your books already…looks like I need some more!”

William Andrew has recently signed up with Plastics.comto provide users with content from our main imprint Plastics Design Library as well as selected titles in other subject areas such as Micro & Nano Technologies, Coatings (Surface Engineering) and Technical Documentation.
Since November of 1994 plastics.com, and it’s predecessors have been helping plastics professionals, industry workers and the public when looking for information on the plastics industry. They provide technical, scientific or business info, career assistance and camaraderie of people within the plastics industry. Plastics.com has created a series of on-line communities related to multiple aspects of the industry and we believe that users will respond positively to the myriad offerings of William Andrew’s applied science handbooks, references, and databases.
The William Andrew section of the site should be fully functional by the end of March.

It is important to share the overarching reasoning behind certain decisions made at publishing companies with the people we sell books to… So, in the upcoming posts we’ll be sharing the intentions and driving forces behind our major series. Today’s post is about the MNT (Micro & Nano Technologies) series which has just launched its first two (2) titles.
Mission Statement
The aim of this series is to disseminate the latest developments in small scale technologies with a particular emphasis for accessible and practical content. These books will appeal to engineers from industry, academia, and government sectors.
People
Dr. Nigel Hollingworth is the publisher and acquisitions editor for the MNT series.
Dr. Jeremy Ramsden is the Series Editor for the MNT series. He is a Professor of Nanotechnology at Cranfield University, United Kingdom and Editor-in-Chief of two journals.
Outlook
The first two books in the series: Microdrops and Digital Microfluidics; and Micromixers have just been published in February 2008. We expect to publish approximately 8 more titles in 2008. More information on those titles is forthcoming…
