Fabrication and Design of Resonant Microdevices
August 28, 2008The newest book in the Micro & Nano Technologies (MNT) series, Fabrication and Design of Resonant Microdeviceshas just been released. Written by Behraad Bahreyni (Simon Fraser University, British Columbia), this is an introduction to the issues surrounding the creation and application of micromachined resonant devices. These devices are found in microsensors (mass, strain, chemical, pressure), are used for signal processing and also for active and passive temperature compensation. Our sincerest thanks and congratulations to Dr. Bahreyni for this wonderful addition to the MNT Series.
William Andrew authors contribute to HBA
August 8, 2008The Health & Beauty America (HBA) show is fast approaching, and William Andrew authors, editors, and chapter contributors are playing a major role in the technical workshops through HBA University during the show. The Global Regulatory Issues for the Cosmetics Industry, 2nd Edition (edited by Karl Lintner) is based on the 2007 HBA Regulatory Summit which is organized by Meyer Rosen, editor of the Delivery Systems Handbook for Personal Care and Cosmetic Products. The 2008 Summit is on September 10 and is an all day session with multiple speakers on the regulatory issues all cosmetics companies face. The editor of the Skin Aging Handbook, Nava Dayan, is conducting a Skin Absorption Workshop at HBA on September 11 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. And, Gurpreet Ahluwalia, editor of Cosmetic Applications of Laser & Light Based Systems will be presenting a workshop entitled Laser & Light Systems for Skin Care (see session T-18).
