New Series Editor Named

William Andrew is pleased to announce that Peter Martin, immediate past-president of the Society of Vacuum Coaters and editor of the upcoming third edition of Handbook of Thin Film Deposition Technologies (2009), has accepted the position as Series Editor for the Materials Science and Process Technology series.

Dr. Martin recently retired from Battelle, Pacific Northwest Laboratory where he specialized in developing thin film coatings for energy, biomedical, space and defense applications.  He has written over 200 technical publications, won three R&D 100 Awards for his work in microfabrication and barrier coatings for flat panel displays, two FLC awards, and PNNL 2005 Inventor of the Year.  He has more than 20 patents in microtechnology, coatings technology, thermoelectrics and barrier coatings.
