Just a quick note to let everyone know that our bookstore is up and running on plastics.com. We met again with Greg Koski (Principal) of plastics.com at the MassPlastics show and we are already talking about how we can improve and add to the current offerings. At the moment, you can see well over 60 of our titles on their site and we are looking forward to seeing how their community concept will work out in the very near future. We are also looking forward to seeing book reviews within their multiple forums as well as trying to work together on ensuring William Andrew continues to provide current and applicable information for the plastics industry and beyond.
MassPlastics a Success
March 31, 2008William Andrew and its imprint, Plastics Design Library had an effective and interesting time at the MassPlastics show on March 26th and 27th. Of highest importance was the added exposure of our highly popular line of plastics references, handbooks, and most of all our Chemical Resistance database (in it’s 4th Edition). It was good to see that the plastics industry is still pushing forward and to see new technologies and ideas making their way into an industry that has been around for quite some time.
Many thanks to all those who stopped by our booth and chatted with us about their information needs and desires, and special thanks to those who told us “I have lots of your books already…looks like I need some more!”
massPLASTICS
March 11, 2008William Andrew, and its imprint Plastics Design Library will be attending the massPLASTICS show on March 26th and 27th in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. We hope to see you there!
Chemical Resistance Database
March 11, 2008For those of you who know and sell this product, you will know that it had been delayed for several months. However, Chemical Resistance of Plastics and Elastomers, 4th Edition is currently being pressed and is expected to start shipping in less than two weeks. This is the world’s largest compilation of data on the effects of chemicals on plastics and elastomers. So, if you need to know how your material will react to certain reagents, this is the first place you should turn.
Plastics.com
March 3, 2008William Andrew has recently signed up with Plastics.comto provide users with content from our main imprint Plastics Design Library as well as selected titles in other subject areas such as Micro & Nano Technologies, Coatings (Surface Engineering) and Technical Documentation.
Since November of 1994 plastics.com, and it’s predecessors have been helping plastics professionals, industry workers and the public when looking for information on the plastics industry. They provide technical, scientific or business info, career assistance and camaraderie of people within the plastics industry. Plastics.com has created a series of on-line communities related to multiple aspects of the industry and we believe that users will respond positively to the myriad offerings of William Andrew’s applied science handbooks, references, and databases.
The William Andrew section of the site should be fully functional by the end of March.
